For gamers that are interested in adding victory to the fun, that can be an issue. A well-balanced team of survivors in Evil Dead: The Game can ruin many strategies by communication and coordination. However, a smart choice as a demon leader can bring even the most tactical teams to ruin.

3 Warlord

Boss - Henrietta Elite - Deadite Elite Basic - Deadite

In fairness to the warlord, the balance is very close with all three demons. The only reason she brings up the back here is due to a lack of abilities that change the landscape of the game. All of her units and abilities are focused on deadites and making the deadites stronger. A party consisting of coordinated friends will have the least trouble with Henrietta’s gang.

To be fair, this isn’t a bad tactic. The deadites themselves aren’t hopping around and don’t do anything special, but Henrietta can make them the toughest basic units to kill. For her, victory is all about whittling down the enemy team with deadites that don’t go down in the normal amount of hits.

2 Necromancer

Boss - Evil Ash Elite - Skeleton Elite Basic - Skeleton

Evil Ash is the necromancer demon that leads the pack and he gets a lot of points for diversity. While the other two demon leaders have abilities that only bonus the active ability, the necromancer gets boosts to his regular units and his ability.

It should be noted that his units have shields and those shields greatly limit the useful melee weapons. Ranged attacks also have a chance of getting blocked. Evil Ash’s units don’t have the most damage and players from all platforms with careful aim won’t have too much trouble, but if he gets enough units in an area, he can overwhelm the group.

1 Puppeteer

Boss - Eligos Elite - Demi-Eligos Basic - Deadite Berserker

There is really only one thing that needs to be said about why the Puppeteer is at the top. It’s the reason winning on the third mission has driven the community to near mutiny. The elite unit, the Demi-Eligos, is a tanky enemy capable of immense damage with a wide array of abilities that hit at all ranges. Oh, and don’t forget that it can clone itself with seemingly no limit, creating an army of these monsters.

Any player that gets enough infernal regeneration on them will be able to make multiple elites on the field. That is bad news for a team of survivors. Factor in the ability for a player to take control of one of these elites and make it even stronger and teams of survivors may want to think about quitting and starting a new match if this is who they are matched up against.

Evil Dead: The Game was released on May 13th, 2022, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
